It was developed by Silicon Dreams and published by Electronic Arts and Lego Interactive, and was the first Lego game to be co-published by Electronic Arts, as well as the first to lack the. Soccer Mania is a soccer game with cartoon graphics. The game features six teams (Japan, USA, Brazil, England, Germany and France) and the player chooses one of them. The goal is to win a championship by defeating all other five teams, followed by a final match against the All-Star Team.
The game's graphics have an anime art style. There are six rival available (Japan, USA, Brazil, Great Britain, Federal Republic of Germany and France), and the player must win the championship by defeating five of them. In the Soccer Boy version players play on the Japanese team, and in the Soccer Mania edition they play with the American team. The game ends when the player has won the final match of the championship. Only a minor fraction of the playing field is shown at a time, with the game having both vertical and horizontal scroll, and the goals being positioned on the top and bottom of the playing field.
